Get involved with the
Working Families Party

Working Families Party members are connecting across Rhode Island to build supportive communities and win a state government that works for all of us. If you are tired of politics-as-usual—the big donors, the insiders, the excuses—join us!

Getting started

  • Sign up to become a Working Families Party member
Use this link to join our email list, where you’ll get updates from the RI and National Working Families Party about events, trainings, and action opportunities. You don’t have to change your party registration, and you can opt-out at anytime.

  • Complete an RIWFP New Member Survey
Help us get to know you! Complete our new member survey here.

    • Upon completing the new member survey, you’ll be added to our RIWFP Slack where our member/volunteer work is coordinated statewide.

    • An RIWFP staff organizer or lead volunteer will also reach out to get to know you and to work on matching you with projects that align with your skills, interests, and goals.

  • Join a Welcome Gathering
Both RIWFP and the National Working Families Party have regular online ‘Welcome Gatherings’ to orient new members to the Party. We strongly recommend interested folks attend a Welcome Gathering at least once, if not more! Be sure to check the RIWFP Movement Calendar, and/or the RIWFP Mobilize and WFP Mobilize pages (where we post events), for these opportunities.

  • Attend a training or an event
We host a variety of virtual and in-person trainings covering everything from how to run a campaign to how our political system works. Again, check the Movement Calendar or our RIWFP Mobilize for upcoming trainings and events.

Not quite ready to join the Working Families Party, but still interested in learning more? Schedule a 1:1 with a WFP organizer or member—we’re eager to get to know you! Email us at ri [at] workingfamilies.org and let’s win.
